Living Green is a way of life in California! While many in our golden state may still be in the dark about recycling, California as a whole blows away the nation when it comes to responsible electronics recycling. The national average is reported to be somewhere between 10-20% of all electronics discarded are recycled. This means that the other 80%+ goes where exactly??? More than likely, it goes into the ground via the landfills. You might ask what this does to their local … [Read more...]

Smaller Water Bottle Caps – Really??

But, hey, we … [Read more...]
Apathy. Awareness. Action!

Sadly, some end up on the curb and some end up in the trash. Thankfully, we have the television and the laptop and both will now be recycled properly. But how do you address the apathy about electronic waste recycling and build awareness so that fellow Californians will take the proper action? … [Read more...]
Resourcefulness
We are all about recycling...but what about re-using? The old saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure" is one we take seriously. As part of our business, we try to pair up those hidden treasures with the people who will find a new use for them. We have noticed more people in the Goodwill Store, on Ebay, and searching Craigslist to find more economical ways to satisfy their wants and needs. The upside to a down economy, like the one we are living through, is it makes people more … [Read more...]

Like almost 10,000 pounds of ewaste! After much planning, our electronic waste collection event at Saddleback Church was a huge success. Over 130 families came through with various kinds of electronic waste - anything from really heavy televisions to a vintage 80's style car phone. Notice I said "car" phone and not "mobile" phone - there is nothing mobile about that one! But we all had a good laugh remembering when those Miami Vice style phones were all the rage. There were so many wonderful … [Read more...]
